| Learning to Fly |
| In 2012 I rescued a baby bird, a starling, who was only two days old. I raised her in my studio. She inspired a series of installtions and paintings. Watching her learn to negotiate space, take offs and landings was a treat and became the subject of this series. She is still with me happily singing and flying around while I work. As she has bonded with me she has surprised us all by learnng to speak! It's only a few phrases but it was a total surprise - who knew they could talk? |
